I am Giorgos Anastasopoulos. I was born and live in Athens. A significant part of my life is dedicated to elements that have made up this metropolis over time: Music, sports, public affairs, philosophy, its streets and people.
Academic Pursuits
My studies are in the social sciences. I have a PhD from the Department of Sociology of Panteion University, where I taught for two years. I also have a degree in Anthropology and History.
Psychosocial Support
My presence in the field of psychosocial support begins in 2015. Both through personal trials, which brought me into the position of the patient and the trainee, and through the provision of services to vulnerable populations - professionally and voluntarily - for international organizations and non-profit organizations. Mainly to refugees, immigrants and the homeless.
Impactς
The majority of the cases I have handled concern children, young people, trauma, addictions, neurodiversity and psychosis. A valuable source of inspiration for me is the Humanlinks team, with whom I have been collaborating since 2018.
Training in the Method
At the same time, I begin my four-year experiential training at the:
“Non-Directive – Interventional Psychotherapy and Research” Institute
The educational process followed is the personal experiential experience of the participants, which is also the starting point for the theoretical and methodological approach of NDI. Our trainers are psychiatrist George Astrinakis and psychologist Kaiti Kanakakis. My thesis concerns the experience, management and recovery of a psychotic episode.
Research Interests
In recent years, I have been following the scientific debate surrounding the issue of Consciousness, as well as efforts to bridge the gap between science and
spirituality, increasingly recognizing the value of experiential knowledge.
My current research and applied interests include transpersonal psychology, music therapy and energy techniques. I am a certified first and second degree Reiki healer, with teacher Michalis Priftis – Kartar.
The journey of self-exploration and self-realization is a process of awakening to our true nature.
